Rooftop Yoga at HG Supply Dallas — When the Whole Roof Started Shaking
By Amy · Summer 2024 · Dallas, TX
A high-energy hour on the rooftop of one of Dallas’s best spots. Bodyweight work, a room full of seasoned movers, and the moment I cued jumping jacks and the whole roof started shaking — that’s when you know the energy is right.
HG Supply Rooftop Yoga is one of my favorite events to teach — and not just because of the mimosas after (though those help). It’s the combination of a great outdoor setting, a crowd that actually shows up to work, and the kind of electric energy you only get when a group of people are all moving together at full intensity under the open sky.
Here’s what the Summer 2024 class looked like — and why this event keeps people coming back.
The setting
HG Supply’s rooftop is one of those Dallas spots that just works for an outdoor fitness event. The space is open, the views are great, and the energy of the venue carries right into the workout. We set up mats across the rooftop, and as the class filled in it became clear this was a crowd that came ready to move — not just to say they did yoga before brunch.
The workout
Unlike a beginner-focused class, the HG Supply crowd skews toward seasoned fitness-goers — people who take classes regularly and can handle real intensity. So I designed a full hour of high-energy bodyweight work that pushed the rooftop. We moved fast, we stayed challenged, and I didn’t dial anything back.
And then came the jumping jacks.
The moment I cued them, the entire roof started shaking. The kind of shaking that makes you look around, make eye contact with the person next to you, and keep going anyway because the energy is just too good to stop. That’s one of those moments you don’t forget as an instructor — when the space is so locked in that the building literally feels it.
After the class — brunch & mimosas
One of the things that makes HG Supply Rooftop Yoga such a great event is what comes after — attendees stay on for brunch and unlimited mimosas, which means the class has a built-in social hour that keeps the energy going long after the last pose. Whether you’re there for the workout, the food, or both, the format just works.
This is honestly the kind of event that converts people into regular movers — you show up for the fun, you leave having had a genuinely great workout, and you feel good enough to book the next one.
